04.02 The Biosphere
Location:
Lake Hatchineha, Lake Wales, FL
Terrain:
The terrain is extremely flat around the lake.
There are many lakes around that area that are
interconnected by canals including Lake Hatchineha
Depths and salinity:
The water in Lake Hatchineha is shallow the
deepest point in the lake is ~10 feet but the
cannel can reach a depth of 20 feet deep.
It is a freshwater lake
Effects of seasonal changes:
The spawning time for the Largemouth Bass is
the lake is largely dependent on the water temperature
which is usually linked to the season temperature
changes
Effects of climate change on Lake Hatchineha:
If you look around the area there are a
multitude of sand mines implying at one
point that the area was underwater for a
long period of time it is not cray to think
that it could happen again.
Effects of Sunlight:
Some of the effects of sunlight are that the water
warms up rapidly during the day causing the fish to
recede deeper into the water on some days the water
can heat up from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to almost 86
degrees Fahrenheit
